​​Sat 13th June, 10am-4.30pm - Annual Symposium: Potted History Archaeology Project

Venue - Bridge Chamber Hall

Cost - £10 full /  £5 concessions (incl. tea, coffee and biscuits)

Join us for a fascinating day exploring the archaeology, pottery and community heritage of Barnstaple. Bringing together archaeologists, researchers and community historians, this event showcases the discoveries, stories and ongoing research emerging from Potted History.

Thu 2nd July, 11 am - Visit to Halberton Roman Villa Community Excavation with site director Susan Greaney. Please be at the site by 10.55am. Park in Sampford Peverall or Halberton. There is no parking on site. 

Directions and poarking arrangements will be provided on booking your place.

We recommend car sharing wherever possible.  This visit is for NDAS members and guests. (For those with limited mobility Susan is negotiating for parking near the site and will let us know in due course if this is possible.) For further details visit the site website at

Sat 22nd August, 2pm - Visit to the Roundhouse, St Petrock's well and Newton St Petrock Church with award winning community archaeologist Simon Carroll.

 Meet at The Shippon, Newton St Petrock by 2pm. Parking is limited (approx 7-8 cars) so please car share where possible. After visiting the Roundhouse, there will be a visit to St Petrocks Well on the other side of the village and which was excavated and conserved by Simon and his team recently. Afterwards, an opportunity to visit the beautiful village church. For members and guests.
